As part of the national Heritage Open Days event, the Holst Birthplace Museum is offering free guided tours on Sunday 13 September (pre-booking essential).


 


 


 


Tour the Regency house where Gustav Holst, composer of The Planets, was born! Learn the story of the man and his music, and enjoy the fine period rooms showing the “upstairs-downstairs” way of life in times past. Holst Birthday Concert, 26 September 2015

Location: All Saints' Church, All Saints Road, Cheltenham GL52 2HG

 

The annual concert to celebrate the birthday of Gustav Holst on 21 September 1874 will be held this year on Saturday 26th September in All Saints Church, Cheltenham, at 7.30pm.  This year the concert is being arranged jointly with the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society, who are celebrating their 21st anniversary.


 


The concert will be given by the Bridge Quartet, who were formed in 1989 and are well known for their performances of English music. The programme for the concert includes Holst’s Phantasy on British Folk Songs as well as music by Vaughan Williams, Ravel and Howells.
